To the Chestnut -Williams Families: We all know, even if it is not at the forefront of our minds, that eventually we all transition. Naturally, I, like you, was not expecting the sudden transition of your mom, sister, etc.. And I had been looking forward to speaking with Pauline to convey my condolences to you as families. I last saw Mrs. Chestnut, several years ago, when she and Mr. Chestnut, Demp (Dempsey), family, and I were able to spend several days together during their visit to southern California. Mr. and Mrs. Chestnut was as courteous, enjoyable to visit with then and as they always had been when I visited with them on the farm outside of Willacoochee growing up when my step-grandfather (Rev. Brown) would “drag me along” on those visits. And naturally, over the years, I was always be glad to receive the news, after the passing of Mr. Chestnut, from Pauline that “mom is doing well” and of the gatherings of you as families. I will always remember and cherish having known Mrs. Chestnut. And God will sustain you (us) in the days ahead.
