A family woman of deep faith who also served in the Navy. She cared about the Navy and put tremendous effort into making it and those serving in it better, but it was obvious that her true allegiance was to her God and her family. Demetria, we’ll never know why you were taken home so soon, but I suspect God had a place in heaven that he needed you to put in ship-shape before other inhabitants arrive! Until we meet again my friend….

CDR Bell-Bryant, Words cannot express how unreal & heartbreaking this is! I truly am grateful to have been under your leadership! You were a true stand up woman for the Navy & were a true example of leadership! I truly thank you for allowing me to assist in leadership for our unit, motivating me, making sure we maintain our military bearing, and being a woman of character & excellence! You will be missed & remembered and never forgotten! You truly have left a mark on my heart as a military sailor & I’m forever grateful for have known you for these past 4 years ! You are leaving a mark behind on others individually & the Navy as a whole! But you’re in a better place now & may God comfort your family during these trying times! Rest in Peace! Very Respectfully, PS2 Alexis Mosley

Ma,am It's funny because we both thought we didn't get connected to each other when you initially moved into our unit. We had a lengthy talk during which I actually cried to you about what I was going through. It turned out that there had been a misunderstanding, and we needed to have that conversation. I want to express my gratitude for being there for me throughout one of the hardest periods of my life. I would like to express my gratitude for being among the first people in the unit to consistently check on me. This one truly broke me, thanks to you. My thoughts are with you and your family; you were quite enthusiastic about your first grandchild.

Demetria I do not know how you can be gone. I only had the luck of knowing you for a little over a year but in that time, I saw how invested and engaged you were with every Sailor. I watched how you motivated, guided and mentored every single Sailor in your department and our unit. You made me work harder every single day. You made me laugh when you yelled at us at PT - I did not want to let you down. Your memory and legacy is with me - I will take what you did and pay it forward. I miss you so very much!
